Our Board

Meet our board, a group of talented professionals from all sectors of business. Collectively they bring their expertise to our Business Board.

Emily

Chairman.

I work in PMO at BT and have been on the board for 5 years, recently moving from the role of secretary to the chair. I believe the work the NSPCC does is so vitally important because every child deserves to feel safe and loved. As a board we’re working hard to organise a whole variety of events throughout the year – so there’s something for everyone to get involved in, to raise money for the NSPCC.

Outside of work you’ll catch me walking my miniature dachshund or enjoying a glass of wine or 2 with my family and friends 🤗

Aran

Treasurer.

I’m Aran, a business owner and entrepreneur based in Birmingham and have been a member of NSPCC West Midlands Business Board for three years, and have more recently moved into the role of Treasurer. Creating fundraising events are crucial for the NSPCC to ensure every child feels safe and loved – after all today’s children are tomorrow’s leaders.

Outside of work you’ll catch me in the gym or with friends enjoying some great food!

Karen

Secretary.

I’m a Senior Business Development Executive for a national law firm and I have been on the NSPCC Business Board since 2019. Away from the office I’ll be out hiking. Since joining the board, I took on an amazing challenge hiking the Inca Trail in Peru to raise funds for the NSPCC.

It’s so important for children to feel safe and loved and I’m proud to be part of this Business Board and a team that is passionate about working together to do as much as they can to raise vital funds to support this great charity.

Amanda

NSPCC Fundraising Manager.

I work for the NSPCC as the fundraising manager for the West Midlands. I have been with the NSPCC for 15 years. Part of my role in the community is to support volunteer’s, oversee events and support the board with their activities.

Alem

Website Manager.

I joined the NSPCC West Midlands Business Board in 2023. After I merged my digital agency with Fuel in 2020, I strategically advise our clients on their digital campaigns and search engine performance. I get exceptional results through being ahead of the game and a determination to see our clients succeed.

Natalie

Marketing Manager.

I’m Natalie and I work in social media, joining the board at the end of 2023 to help grow our social presence and build awareness of our all-important fundraising events throughout the Midlands so that the children of Birmingham and beyond get the support, love, safety and care they all deserve.

Outside work, you’ll either find me in the gym, at a gig, or watching my beloved Birmingham City!

Andy

Events Manager.

I am a university lecturer and have been involved in fundraising for over 40 years. This has been as a fundraiser taking part in events such as the London Marathon (10 times), running across the Sahara (Marathon Des Sables) or from a strategic perspective as a trustee for a number of charities – currently Birmingham Dogs Home.

I am fully aware of the difficulties of raising funds especially as we approach tighter individual and corporate purse strings. I was also a police officer for 21 years; I am not naive to the cruelty that children suffer in their homes or other places; little things matter and if I can help as a member of this board then the slightest difference made can also be the biggest.

Garry

President.

I’ve worked for Birmingham Council for many years running major events across the city. The contacts made during this time have massively helped what the board do. I have recently moved from the Chair of the board to President to continue to support and build great relationships between the board and the business community in the West Midlands.

Jas

Media/Events Manager.

I am a professional photographer – you may have seen me at events around Birmingham! I help the board with all photography and videography work and am responsible for organising our Paddy’s Day event.

Anna-Maria

Corporate Partnerships.

I joined the Board at the end of 2023. I am a Director at Wolverhampton-based remediation contractor, McAuliffe Group – where I lead on CSR and social value – with over 25 years’ experience in finance, commercial, and HR roles.

McAuliffe Group is a long-time supporter of the NSPCC, holding an annual charity Golf Day in Edgbaston and regularly supporting regional fundraising events. As part of the Board, I plan to build on this commitment. With 90% of the NSPCC’s income coming from donations, I believe business fundraising is vital to ensure essential NSPCC and Childline services are always available for vulnerable children.

Outside of work you’ll find me lifting weights, walking with my friends and family (which includes my cockapoo Freddy), visiting family in Ireland, and travelling whenever possible.

Sonia

Signatory.

I’m Sonia, a Relationship manager at Lloyd’s Bank where I manage a portfolio of Commercial clients. I’ve been a member of the NSPCC West Midlands Business Board for over 2 years now.

I enjoy being a part of the group as I feel it’s important for me to raise awareness of the support the NSPCC provide across the nation. I believe all children deserve a fair chance of happiness, love and care in life. It’s important the younger generation are protected and so supporting the cause is important.

Outside of work I like to keep fit by going to the gym, catching up with family and friends. You’re likely to find me having a cup of tea.

Alex

Events Manager.

I’m CEO of ilarna, a Health Tech Home Care business and a former NHS Managed Services Executive in London.

Organising fundraising events is essential to support children who so desperately need the NSPCC’s vital services, and I’m delighted to be part of such a wonderful team.

Outside of work, I am passionate about spending time with my family (and our Golden Retriever Murphy), travelling and fitness. Sometimes even running the occasional marathon!
